CES 2004 - Event Report

At CES in Las Vegas, America's largest consumer electronics exhibition, the DVD+RW Alliance again presented new products and developments related to DVD+R/+RW. Dozens of companies emphasized their support for the DVD+R/+RW format by demonstrating their new products in such areas as PCs, PC drives, consumer electronics, software and blank media.

Following the successful demonstration at last year's CEATEC exbibition in Japan, Philips again demonstrated the upcoming double layer 8.5 GB DVD+R technology with a working prototype recorder and playback of a DVD+R DL disc on a regular DVD player.

Demonstrations of new products were announced by "Robin Williams", who also entertained the large numbers of visitors at the DVD+RW Alliance booth with hourly sweepstakes and give-away prices.
