Recording with DVD will become a must when Thomson delivers its first DVD+RW/+R recorder. The Thomson Scenium DTH 8000 will encourage mainstream consumers to enter this emerging home entertainment product category. The full-featured recordable DVD player will hit the market in September 2003 across Europe. The +RW format offers numerous features and benefits that provide consumers with time saving and easy operating capabilities. It has the great benefit of being backward compatible with many existing DVD -ROM drives & DVD video players. It enables home video creation on a high quality DVD with Video, photos and music.

Combining the recording ability of a VCR and the digital quality of a DVD, the Thomson Scenium DVD recorder allows consumers to record their favourite television shows and home videos onto a DVD. This is the first DVD recorder to incorporate the easy to navigate NAVICLICK interactive electronic TV Program guide and with one touch record, recording off air programs is simple. Finally, The DTH 8000 will offer a disc library function to view instantly the contents of the recorded DVD+R/+RW discs (up-to 200 titles) as well as a front USB input to connect a Flash Memory Card Reader for playback or transfer of JPEG or mp3 files.
