Easy Systems Japan releases new version of Drag'n Drop CD+DVD 3.0 writing software

Over four million copies licensed software revised its features and functions reflecting requests from end users and OEM users

Tokyo, Japan - January 9, 2003 - Easy Systems Japan, the leading CD and DVD writing Software Company, today announced a new version of Drag'n Drop CD+DVD writing software. It becomes second major upgrade to incorporate DVD writing function more effectively and addresses request from wide variety of end users world wide.

Drag'n Drop® CD+DVD, one of the major products offered by Easy Systems is an integrated CD/DVD writing application designed to provide users with intuitive, easy-to-use one-click functionality. Drag'n Drop CD+DVD began shipping in January 2000 and by December 2002, more than 4.8 million copies had been shipped in 14 languages world wide. Drag'n Drop CD+DVD is co-developed by Easy Systems Japan and DigiOn Inc.

"Since its first shipment, we quickly gained major OEM customers and have been providing products to end users." said Shinichiro Shibuya, president and CEO at Easy Systems. "With incremental write for DVD+R/RW feature, we believe we will be able to support more users world wide."

New Features of Drag'n Drop CD+DVD
Based on input from users and OEM customers, we implemented new or expanded features that help both entry level users and advanced users.

* Incremental write to DVD, allows to append additional data to previously written disc. We have carefully chosen the method for adding data in each type of disc. It achieved higher read compatibility with existing DVD-ROM drives.
* Auto-Grabber, automatic, no-click back up function enables to daily back automatically, once folders or files are specified. It will record file names, backup method/options and backup program to the disc. When the disc is inserted to the drive; it will automatically start backup process and back up data specified. Program size is less than 1MB, rest of then can be used for backup data.
* Professional mode, gives more flexibility to advanced users. Since first version, we kept in mind being simple and easy. Because of that reason, we hide number of optional settings and made easier and fun for most of users. Now we getting voices from experienced users to allow setting options in details. Professional mode enables to set parameters while normal mode keeps intuitive operations.

This new version is available now through OEM customers and a package version is planned to release in February.
