INTERVIDEO LAUNCHES WINDVD RECORDER
Record Video And Play DVDs; PC Software To Replace A VCR
FREMONT, Calif.-December 3, 2002-InterVideo, Inc. today
introduced WinDVD Recorder, PC software that enables consumers
to play DVDs and to record virtually any kind of video
- from camcorders, DV cameras or TV - straight to DVD or
CD. By providing both recording and playback functionality,
WinDVD Recorder is a software replacement for a VCR.
WinDVD Recorder is a software product that combines the
best of two popular InterVideo products, WinDVD, the world's
most popular DVD-playing software, and WinDVR, a program
that lets users watch and record TV with a PC. By combining
the functionality of these two products, and adding the
ability to burn straight to a DVD or CD, WinDVD Recorder
enables a host of multimedia possibilities, such as watching
DVDs, scheduling and recording favorite TV shows directly
to DVD, burning DVDs/VCDs directly from a camcorder, converting
old home movies to DVD or CD and much more.
"WinDVD Recorder is the software equivalent of a
consumer electronic DVD recorder because it not only plays
DVDs, but records video straight to disk," said Steve
Ro, CEO and founder of InterVideo. "With WinDVD Recorder
you can watch a DVD on your PC and record a TV show in
the background at the same time. Best yet, all the DVDs
and VCDs that WinDVD Recorder burns play in living room
DVD players and recorders."
WinDVD Recorder lets users:
* Record/burn TV shows to DVDs or CDs
* Play DVD or VCD movies
* Schedule and record TV shows to hard drive for later
viewing
* Burn disks from any video input source, such as a camcorder
* Convert VHS tapes to DVD or VCD disks
* Burn DVD or VCD disks that will play in living room DVD
players
* Play DVDs and record video at the same time
Availability
WinDVD Recorder is available immediately at InterVideo's
