MedioStream is the First Software to Deliver Better Than
Real-Time Burning of DVDs
New Internal Performance Test Results Show neoDVD 4.0 is
Twice As Fast As Nearest Competitor
SAN JOSE, CA (October 1, 2002) - MedioStream, a leading
provider of PC-based software for recording video to DVDs
and CDs, today announced that internal testing shows that
on comparable systems and at comparable video quality,
its neoDVD 4.0 suite is not only the fastest consumer software
currently available on the market for burning video files
to DVD, but also the only software that can deliver faster
than real-time performance when converting DV AVI files
to DVD. On a Pentium 4 2GHz PC, MedioStream's tests show
that neoDVD 4.0, is able to burn a 20-minute DV AVI file
onto a DVD+RW disc in 18 minutes, which is half the time
it takes its nearest competitor to do the same.
What makes neoDVD 4.0 faster than its competitors is the
result of MedioStream's commitment to continually improve
its high-performance codec technology. MedioStream proprietary
technology includes the industry's first real-time MPEG-2
encoder, which significantly speeds the DVD authoring process.
In addition, MedioStream's "Direct-to-Disc Recording" feature,
compatible with all commercially available DVD+RW drives,
allows users to burn DVDs in a simple, truly one-step process,
without having to use the PC first as a buffer to create
a disc image for burning.
Fastest Burner in the World
"We were the first to deliver real-time performance
and these tests back up our claim that we are faster than
other DVD authoring solutions on the market today," said
Gordon Doran, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at
MedioStream. "When someone wants to burn a DVD, they
look at two things: how easy it is to do and how long it
will take.. MedioStream's neoDVD suite of software provides
the right answers to these questions at the right price
for the average consumer."
neoDVD 4.0 is not only the fastest software solution for
burning DVDs with newer, faster computers, but also with
slower systems, neoDVD 4.0 maintains its speed advantage
over its competitors in testing on 1.1Ghz and 1.3 Ghz computers.
